Scenario
This assignment will be based on producing evidence of an understanding of the processes and techniques required to effectively manage projects. The assignment will be based on a case study (provided) covering issues relating to managing a project within a food-manufacturing environment.
Task 1 (LO1, AC1, AC3, AC4, AC5, AC6, AC8)
The selection of project management staff members, including the role of project manager.
Explain the role of each member and their responsibilities.
Produce a well-defined project business case.
Task 2 (LO2, AC2, AC7, AC9, AC10)
Detail a breakdown of the product breakdown structure, along with product flow diagram which clearly shows resource allocation accompanied with Gantt and PERT chart.
Identify and discuss the key risk to the project, with an associated “Impact Analysis”
Task 3 (LO3, AC10, AC11, AC12, AC13, AC14)
Identify the milestone marks and justify their position.
Design and discuss the selected project team with justification to why they have been chosen.
Detail a schedule with cost control techniques, including contingency.
The mechanisms that needs to be in place to successfully manage the possible product specification changes outlined in the case study
Task 4 (LO4, AC12)
Demonstrate your project to the tutor and justify your solution for the identified problem.
