You will write a 5 page essay using APA 7th edition in English. You will use the attached literature as your reference to develop your thoughts and arguments. Please do not type the questions on your essay, just type: Question #1, etc. Attached you will find literature that you will use as your reference to develop your thoughts and arguments.  In the book, Counseling Skills for Social Workers, you will read Chapter 3 (p.65-91) to reflect on your questions. 1). Why are effective listening skills vital to your engagement with clients? What are two listening skills you believe you need to work on? Why? How is active listening different for social workers? 

2). Evaluate how you provided feedback after listening to someone (friend, relative, partner, etc.). What challenges did you notice you had before you thought about what to respond? What were you thinking while the person was speaking to you? What were you feeling in the moment? 

3). Evaluate how you reflected in your conversation with the person. How did you observe your reflection to be effective or not? What were other active listening skills that you communicated to the person? 

4). In your conclusion, summarize what you learned about yourself? What are some of the active listening skills you believe you need to improve to be an effective social worker in your engagement of clients?
